I'm Melanie, a newly married, 30 year old lady living in Brooklyn. I grew up in Ottawa, ON and from there, moved to Vancouver, BC where I started figuring out who I was and where I was going. Sounds heavy right? Well, let's just say your twenties are a big ol' mix of fun and scariness, but I made it through.
I started working for a fashion company called Kensie while I was out West which brings me to my current location, Brooklyn, NY. Here, I worked as a Merchandiser for the brand, trying to keep up with the trends and latest styles which is no small feat when you're a simple vintage loving gal.
I started blogging in 2009 with a personal style blog called, Idee Geniale. I didn't even know what I was getting myself into but am glad I did. Through blogging, I met some incredible ladies and have had some pretty rad opportunities. That said, my life has changed now and I feel like my blog needed a change too.
Une Vie Geniale, meaning "A Brilliant Life" is my version of a spin-off blog, in which I share a lot more than just outfits. I hope to bring you along on my adventures here in Brooklyn, touching on places I visit, food I eat, and of course, things I wear.
