Snoozer Loser.

Anyone else loving this sumer weather we've been having? This week, it's suppose to hit up to the 70's and I just can't wait. Since most of my time is spent outdoors, this early spring weather is definitely helping me out.

This outfit is from yesterday; I had my Lower East Side Girl's Club monthly meet-up where we made up cycled pins from various materials. My mentorship is coming to an end in a couple of month but I've been having so much fun with the girls club that I think I'll start back next season! I'll have another post on the LES Girls's Club a little later on.
After, I met up with Soner and we got some ice cream at Lula's Sweet Apothecary. Finally!!! Neither of us had been to the vegan ice cream shop in the East village and were dying to try it! It's a cute little store with an old timey feel. Oh and they also carry Dunwell doughnuts. (Which we did not get, surprise, we have self-control!)
The streets were packed with St-Patty's Day drunkeness we definitely got out of there as soon as we were done. It was pretty much a great day!

I received this top from the great people at Snooser Loser. When they contacted me, I took a look at their site and couldn't believe the great pieces they had. Everything is made locally, on 100% sustainable fibers.   Prints are made in small batches, therefore creating unique pieces every time. I love this Kachinas printed top and thought it'd be the perfect thing to wear with some cool jeans and my shiny gold shoes! If your a fan of their work, make sure you check back here in a bit for a special giveaway!

Hope everyone's weekend is going well. I woke up a little later but I guess that's to be expected when it's Daylight Saving's time. Since it was sunny out, we decided to take the bikes and head on over to DunWell Doughnuts for a sweet breakfast fix.
This is what I decided to wear for the little trip. I think these purple jeans are a new favorite of mine. I found them at Buffalo Exchange (the tee is also from there) which is where I've been doing most of my "shopping" these days, using mostly trade money from selling some of my fancier clothes that I don't have any use for anymore. I swear it's such a great feeling to know that I can trade in clothes and get "new" items for my closet without spending anything. Oh and these Toms botas were a recent splurge as well but I've barely taken them off my feet since I got them. They're so warm and comfortable!

Terrariums in Greenpoint.

I've been meaning to post these pictures all week but am just now getting around to doing it. This event happened last Sunday night over in Greenpoint, courtesy of The Greenpointers! not sure if you are familiar with them but if you're in Brooklyn, you should check them out! They've started holding classes for anything and everything you can imagine. Also, if you want to teach a class, you are welcome to contact them to make the arrangements! How cool is that? So i've posted about my love for terrariums before so when I saw that they were having a terrarium making class, I was super excited to sign up.

The class cost $40 and included all of the materials (plus a can of PBR!), and Claire, our host/teacher for the night was so awesome. I was pretty happy with the way mine came out but had to be extra careful on my bike ride home not to jostle it too much. It got home pretty ok. It was also pretty fun to see everyone else as it's kind of like decorating your house and gardening combined. Everyone has a different style and it comes out while making your terrarium.
So like I said, make sure you checkout The Greenpointers for fun stuff going on in Brooklyn, like tonight's Greenpoint Gallery tour.

Veg Food festival

By Friday, all I wanted to do this weekend was take it easy, put my feet up and relax. Well, that didn't quite happen considering I had a ticket to attend the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival, this year, it was 2 days! Remember what happened last year when I tried to attend? I wasn't going to let that happen to me again so when I saw a Living Social coupon for the 2 day festival WITH VIP entry, I got on it right away.
We got there early as to beat the crowds, at this age, I don't do crowds very well. And were able to sample and get in on some really great deals on some of my favorite vegan specialty foods.

I think my favorites from the festival were getting some marshmallow treats from Sweet & Sara's, although I did pick up a bag of Dandies that I have yet to try. It's a vegan marshmallow face off!
The lovely people at Peanut Butter & Co. had an awesome deal on their butters so of course, I indulged and also had a fan girl moment posing with their monkey mascot!
Others included: Daiya, Coconut Bliss, Vegan Bodega, Tumeric, Herbivore ( I may have picked up their Vegan Pregnancy Survival guide, just for fun!).

Although I wasn't feeling up for it, I'm so glad I made it through and enjoyed the festival. I'll definitely be returning next year!
